"Microsoft technology has transformed business practices and his company has had a profound impact on the British economy."
Yup they sure have. The practice of having to blow big bucks on upgrading and the negetive impact when viruses disrupt business networks all over the country

well in gate's defense he shoulda stopped at does... you cant get much more stable then that sucker
that alone was a significant contribution (and in my opinion) the best one MS has made to computing (other then perhaps perfecting the process of ripping other companies off and then relabling it and selling it as M$)

Well to be fair.... Gates bought DOS off of some guy so even that M$ didn't produce on their own... which explains why its so stable.
I guess when you have as much money as you do, you can buy a knighthood without any problems

MS did alot of editing to DOS before they sold it to IBM, and they didn't keep going back to that guy for further releases of DOS, they did it on their own...

Of course they would not have gone back to the guy. He was already thinking of suing M$ (again) due to their slightly shady practices. Going back for help would have only worsened their position in the trial.
