Long and short, Canada will not preticipate in a North American Missile Shield program. Any thoughts on the matter?

He never actually had my vote. He would however have my vote if he tried this "Canadian" missile defence plan.

Mr. PM in a hang glider with a nice heavy Greek bronze shield flying around and stopping missiles. It would work at least once, and we have plenty more politicians to spare.

Ok, so it's unrealistic, but at least our officials would be doing something useful for a change.

can i change my vote? lol i didnt read the poll question properly i think the shield is a dumb idea... everyone knows they would invade canada to plunder its water supply and not risk contaminating it!

If the missiles actually worked, I'd be fine for it.

However, they don't and it's just a money pit. Remember the missile plan we tried to implement in the 80's?

Although in theory, I think the missile shield is a good idea...it's lack of effectivness after 30 years and billions of dollars is kind of a drawback.

Also, I'm glad to see Martin not sideing with war mongering Bush, despite the pressure to do so.

I guess in the end my vote is that no missle shield is a good thing...atleast at this point in our development.

Lasers. They have to finish developing the tech and then they just have to put up the laser turrets.

And make a really big one and mount it on a floating space station.

That would be cool. All we have to do is spread Tim Hortons across the world. Then the Canadian way of life will spread and we can take over the world!

Or just burn the rest of them with the Giant laser so that the Canadian way of life is the ONLY way of life.

Though, after the Patriot missile system, I still feel a little skeptical. The one comment from the DT writer sums up my thought pretty well.

I'm slightly for it. It would have been a good US-Canada relations thing, plus they'd pay for it and we'd get some more jobs. But ya, the missile shield idea is stupid on the hole
