Worms: Forts Under Seige

Don't bother looking for reviews because the game hasn't been released yet. However, we got the "Mexican" version here at Elm and the game kicks @$$. Imagine the fun of worms combined with the building strategy of Starcraft. That's Worms: Forts Under Seige. Your worms get a few weapons, but the real fun begins when you build up your base and launch a plethora of weapons off the rooftops. The single player seems okay, but nothing to write home about. There are a few quirks, but that might be because the game hasn't gone gold yet. Overall, a good (not great) game to play with yer buds.
Conclusion: for doing worms in 3d well and adding a new twist, it's worth your time with friends.

It is. However, it's a b1tch to get running as the game hasn't even gone gold yet. You have to use Daemon tools and even then it's not guaranteed to work. I'll try to remember to bring a copy home.

Any idea when its supposed to go gold?
As in, before the 21st? 'Cause if it does, I'll snag the ISO before I pack up my machine so we have an actual copy.

Gamespy lists it as early 2005.
It must be going gold soon. What we have looks pretty solid. Getting it to work on certain computers seems to be the only problem we have with it now.

Dunno. They've already cancelled the X-Box version.

I just got the ISO off Suprnova and it installed perfectly, had a crack on the cd and played flawlessly. The game itself is fun and I totally vote we play it at the New Years LAN. It looks like it could be super fun with teams or in a massive free for all.
That is all.

The controls take some getting used to, but once you do it rocks the big one. Single player is ok, but with human opponents the game really takes off.

I didnt find the controls all that difficult. Kinda tricky with the way they setup the mouse, but easily adaptable. I played against some computer opponents and it was pretty fun even then. Also, the Rhino launcher is Sooooo fun as is the mortar and pretty much every other weapon in the game.

Yeah, the mouse was inverted by default so we changed it to the right way.
If you play through the single player you unlock all sorts of cool new maps and weapons. For the LAN I think we'll just unlock all that stuff with cheats. Some of the weapons off the citadel are pretty crazy strong (ie. moose, laser, rockets, air drop animals, trojan donkey, etc.).

Yeah, it's the first thing we play for about 2 hrs. after we finish an exam. Nothing like hitting somebody with a flying hippo to relieve some post-final stress.
