This is mostly a question for Nick and Mike.

Did you guys get your GBA's with the backlights and the card readers? I would hope so by now. Im just curious as to how well it works out for you and how much it set you back in the end.

Ah the random things that pop into my head when I dont want to write papers...

Why the fuck would anyone get a DS? Seriously?
Dont let him waste his money!
Its a Slightly more powerful GBA with a touchpad (Which will probably wear out pretty quickly).

Adult games and apps.

Gambling, note taking, etc.

Looks like it has potential. The PSP is kewl............as long as you have a car battery with you as it sucks down batteries like Jenna Jameson..........well, you get the idea.

Anyone who is going to buy it for these already has a PDA

Also, since when has Nintendo been well known for making Adult games of any kind? The Game Cube was supposed to have Adult games too... Oh look, still a massive majority of Kiddy games.

Ai. But not a PDA that can link up with 4 other ones for a gaming fest.

No adult games?

'Blood Rayne'
'True Crime: Streets of LA'
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds'
'Soul Calibur II'
'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'
'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King'
'James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire'
'James Bond 007: Nightfire'
'Hunter'
'Aggressive Inline'
'Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance'
'Destroy All Monsters'
'Blood Omen 2'
'Resident Evil' (all of 'em)
'Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II'
'Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike'
Silent Hill (all of 'em)
Metroid Prime 1 & 2

Just because we don't give a schtick about their games doesn't mean they didn't deliver what they promised.

'Blood Rayne' Buggy and didnt do well
'True Crime: Streets of LA' Ass
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds' Never even heard of it
'Soul Calibur II' Didnt do well because of the Other ports
'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' Dont know
'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King' Dont know
'James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire' From what I've read, ass
'James Bond 007: Nightfire' Ass
'Hunter' Dont know
'Aggressive Inline' Dont know
'Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance' Fared better on the PS2
'Destroy All Monsters' Played it and it was Ass
'Blood Omen 2' Decent
'Resident Evil' (all of 'em) so on the GameCube? two that I can recall off hand
'Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II' Ass
'Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike' Ass
Silent Hill (all of 'em) Couldnt say
Metroid Prime 1 & 2 Solid

So of all those Games Nintendo has Maybe 3 solid titles that sold well...
Great record with Adult Games.
I honestly forsee the PSP doing much better. The DS just seems like Nintendo's last gasp to me and I dont forsee a strong list of game titles to sell it when you can get the PSP which plays movies and will have a very large game library due to Sony pushing it.
Its too expensive for another GBA with a touchscreen and wifi.

Oh, I'm not saying they were all good (though, I disagree with some of your Über mini reviews), but they did put 'em out.

Nintendo's North American sales have been shat. However, their Japanese have been solid (next to the PS2 anyways) and their European better than here. It's still not a "hit," per se, but they didn't do as bad as people seem to think.

Battery life makes or breaks a system. Game Gear was competitive, but ultimately failed due to its horrendous battery consumption. And if we're gonna talk expenses..........PSP = $$$$$ (initial cost and batteries).

Hopefully, Sony call pull off another E3 wonder where they suprise the world with the cost of their new system ala PS2.

True, alot of my mini-reviews were somewhat lacking, but they arent really that important.
Frankly, I think the PSP will do better, simply because Sony has more money to throw behind making it successful.
However, only time will show who is right here so bring it on. If a Portable console war ends up dropping the PSP to the price of a GBA, I might end up Snagging one.

It was around $500 after taxes.

that was $100 us for the gba with a backlight installed
$200 us aprox. for the flash cartridge (512mb I think)
then the rest was for shipping and customs charges.

so it finally came, but didn't work, so the guy that I ordered it through is giving me my money back. I have $400 back so far. I do, however, still have the Lcars GBA skin that I ordered...

I will NOT be purchasing a DS. I will be spending my money on 2 or 3 Dreamcasts for mods.
