shitty

After a disappointing Winamp3, Nullsoft developers returned to the drawing board and completed long-standing goals with the release of Winamp 5.0 in late 2003.

Ya i hated Winamp3 aswell, crapy crapy

Winamp should have stopped at 2.9, it achieved all it needed. 3.0 was just silly and 5.0 was a nice try at a media player for video but with other better video players it wasn't neccessary.

I stll have Winamp 2.9 on a cd and use it on my sis comp.

Yeah, Windows Media Player Classic and BS Player are much better at playing video than Winamp.

On a side note, I just installed about 200 mb of codecs. I think I'm set for every type of movie that there is.

I've always found Winamp 5 to be pretty good. It's stable and has a good variety of features.

Unlike 3...which just sucked.

Well, all they really did with 5 was take 2 and add cr@ppy video capabilities. I imagine they could've made it a decent player, but they were owned by AOL............so no. ;)

Meh. I got sick of always having to use G-spot to track down what I needed. However, if I download a clip now and it doesn't work I'm super p1ssed. ;)

Alternative to Shoutcast now that AOL is making VLC remove support for it:
