Does Duel Channel ram on a Mobo require that both sticks be of the same size? I know that they need to be the same speed.

Not necessarily, but it's strongly recommended as otherwise it may cause stability problems. It often depends on your board and how picky it is.

It's like RAID--it can work otherwise, but it's not recommended.
