I thought that Raven was making Quake 4....and when did ID ever say they only make triad's?

Raven is making it, with id supervision. Jason once told me that there would be no Quake 4 becasue of the Triad thing. We both knew they would though.

Meh, its probably for the best really... With all the titles that are coming out this year, Raven and Id would be better off to delay Quake 4 in all respects for a little while.

Don't remember that. It would almost make sense, but id needs to buy more Ferraris. ;)

I think they're delaying it for 1 simple reason--hardware. Preliminary reports say that Quake 4 will have a larger body count (ie. more characters on the screen at a time) and that it's multiplayer will be a more important part. I don't think the gamers of this year have the average specs to do the game justice. So right now I think they're just filling the game with content and waiting for everyone to upgrade after HL2 and D3 come out.

Not to mention having Quake 4 there might steal some of D3's thunder. ;)

I don't think it's going to be D3, from what I've read it's multyplayer will be quite a different experience. HL2 has a pretty good shot though....or the next version of Counter Strike. *shudder*

HL2 has CS with the new Source engine. Same old CS--new engine. Apparently, they're taking the idea that Carmack rejected (he was debating redoing the original Q2 and selling it before Q4...........passed on the idea, though).

D3 has a shot to be popular, but not like "super" popular. It's, as of now, all about the 4 on 4. I think their first mission pack will be a multi add-on and it'll take off from there.

Yah...I'm sure a multiplayer mission pack will be really popular.....just like Team Arena was.....[/sarcasm]:D

They set the bar too high.

They couldn't build upon near perfection. ;)

But they sure could add more useless crap that should have been free :P

All I can hope is that they add Co-op play in a mission pack... If only the X-Box gets it again, im gonna be right pissed...

I fully agree with that. PC users pay a premium over console owners so that they can have the better gaming experience. If we're getting the shaft, what's the point of spending the extra $?
