Yay or Nay?

He raises a few good points, but I don't completely agree with him on all of them.

Quick, go get your old 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System.
OK, got it, what's next?
What? You donated it to a homeless shelter ten years ago?
Don't you listen, I hooked it up. The controller was still under my pillow from last night's Blades of Steel marathon.
And even they don't play it, some guy using it as a little sandwich-holder?
Sandwich Holder? What the fuck? Do you want to play Punch-Out or what? Make up your mind.
The point is, I have an NES, a Dreamcast, and I had a SNES until I moved because my brothers still play it everyday. There are some days when I would prefer SMB 1 to Mario 64, or Blades of Steel to NHL 2k4.

If this is serious then this guy is just retarded.
We have in no way "hit a wall" when it comes to graphics in gaming. Infact I believe that we have so far to go that it's not even funny. When the games we play are more detailed than the most detailed 3D animation we have today - then I might begin to consider the possibility. This point is atleast several years off (ie. not next year).
He also seems to be saying that there is a limited number of idea's for video games and we are comming to the end of the list. That's like saying the movie industry will crash b/c we have run out of idea's for movies - so far that dosen't seem to be a problem.
Finally he discredits online gamers as any source of income for the console company "there are only 28 million of them", he dosen't talk about computer gaming at all, and he seems to believe that just because he is now 30 and dosen't game anymore no one else will either.
Although, after reading several of his other articles, I am beginning to think that's it's all just a big joke and he isn't being serious. Some of his other stuff is pretty funny.

Yeah, i dunno. I've seen the site before, and I'd have to say he either revels in inaccuracy or is really stupid. His desired result is traffic I spose.. and people are more likely to read crazy/inflammatory stuff than things that fit the majority opinion. It's similar to why tabloids are popular. Or something. pointless waste of time indeed is what I say.
edit: didn't see he actually linked to the LOTR thing he wrote.. (that's the one that I couldn't really believe... comedy is comedy, but just making up shit that isn't funny or clever... isn't funny?) Ya.

A better example of talking out of one's ass I've never seen, yes!

While the author claims to have done his research his words indicate otherwise...
thus giving the video game industry the same "we can always release a patch later" quality control that has crippled the PC gaming industry.
Last I checked, the PC gaming industry is still alive and well...
Would the NES have taken off if it turned out to be just an Atari, only with eight colors of square blocks instead of four?
Yes, since thats essentially all it was... New games and a different controller for a new and slightly more powerful package. People will buy the next best system because while you may not play videogames still, I know many people that do and will continue to do so.
I hate stupid people...

Nintendo, after
24 years, is ending support for the original NES:

Had I known I could've sent my NES in to be repaired, I actually might have.

What with everyone saying PC games are dying, here's a look back at PC gaming history:
