This is a pretty good article, I think there is a chance this stuff could really work. I'm giving it to a friend of mine to try on his girlfriend.

You need to find an article on how to get your girlfriend to like Star Trek.

You're just not going about it the right way...
You gotta start small and work your way up.
I just addicted Ashley to Family Guy
From here, Im going to get her to love Transformers

Good work Paul, if you get it to work, you should write an article yourself.

Meghan likes Family Guy, and she'll watch Star Trek, but she doesn't like it.

She'll watch it but she doesnt like it eh? Perhaps you're jumping off the deepend nick. Try slowly introducing her to it. Try other shows that are similar in nature, but less noticably geeky, like babylon 5 or, hell, you could even try Enterprise...
Dont go straight for the prize, you have to coax her to it.

What I mean is that she can accept that it is a part of my life, and will sit and watch it with me, but she herself doesn't enjoy it much. She knows about Enterprise, she's watched it, and still doesn't like it. Just not her cup of tea. I'm not going to force her either, because I wouldn't let her force me into watching The Bachelorette, and she wouldn't try either.

I understand that much. I wasnt suggesting you force her at all. I was saying that you just need to find shows that are similar, that she takes an interest in, then gradually wean her on to it. It can work. I've done it with other people.

So what excatly do you do if the liking of the show is switched, i like it (Star Trek) but my boyfriend doesn't! How do you suggest i deal with that. i know i know what guy in there right mind doesn't like the show.
But i never said he was in his right mind, he is dating me!!! LOL

I think that Babylon 5 fits in to the decidedly more geeky catagory. How about Quantum Leap first, and then Enterprise with the Bakula connection, and finally TNG.
