Automated Nightly Backups

Hey Hey, I have finaly gotten around to programing a Shell script to preform a Automated Nightly Backup of all kalnet databases. I am going to impliment this after the Reading Week upgrades to Romulus.
Watch for notification in the News Forum, for the activation of this feature.

This has now been fully implimented. Backup's are made nightly at 2:30 am.

Sorry it just dawned on me that I did not anwser your question lol.
Yes your database is backed up nightly, as are all databases on the server.

As we're coming up on the 3rd year anniversary of this (ie. when hard drives in a server environment usually die according to Google), are the backups also being made to a separate hard drive apart from the board? Ie. is there a backup-backup copy on a newer harddrive? Is there only one backup copy?
As I understand it, the backups are pretty small. Perhaps send out a quarterly backup to the mods? In a worst case scenario, if everything goes to h3ll at root's end, at least a couple people still have the majority of the board.
If the backups are available off the file server, just tell me and I'll grab a copy from there. Thanks.
