please instruct on how to change your password in Linux, I seem to have fogotten.

If you are loged in as root:

passwd username

You will then be prompted for a new password.

For the user you are loged in as:

passwd

You will then be prompted for a new password.

thanks, I tried password pwd and pass, then gave up. I'll remember from now on.
