Ok, so I got Debian installed but Im having some problems with KDE and a few other things. I think my main problem is my video drivers. The screen flashes black a few times and then resorts to a text interface. I think I have the same problem you did, but I cant seem to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. I should be around all week after 11:00 AM. Gimmie a call
**Update**
Reinstalled with the 2.4.20 kernel. New rash of problems. Sanity decreasing. Need more sleep, need Bob too. Hurry please. Dont know how much longer I can survive without schtick.
Thanks

Hehehe See you didn't need bob's help after all.
You solved your own problem before bob even got around to looking at it.

Try the new drivers just released on Nvidia's website. They're supposed to even compile the kernel for you if you haven't done it properly for their video cards. Plus, it might not be that you've installed the Nvidia drivers erroneously. Just that you haven't set your Xf86Config right.
I dunno--ask Homey B

No, I did need Bobs help for several things, but I dont mind asking. I know very little about Linux, where Bob knows quite alot. This makes bob a valuable resource. As for the new Nvidia Linux drivers, well they arent as easy as they make them out to be. Both bob and I couldnt get them working (over the phone mind you) and I myself have fux0r3d my working KDE3.
If Bob reads this I certainly hope he calls me back since I dont know Jodi's phone #. I need some help fixing my KDE again...

And im sure that the profuse amount of crashes, system lockups, and giant security holes are turning people to windows. Oh wait, Microsofts smothering monopoly is what is causing people to use windows.
Besides, Linux is very user friendly. Its just a little more picky than windows about who its friendly with.
