Hoax

did you know that hoax is short for hocus-pocus?
this may not be overly interesting but i found this ammusing.
after looking up hocus-pocus i found that it is dervived from the latin word
'hoc coppus est' which litteraly means 'this is my body'.
and as everyone knows that has to do with the sacriments.
]something tells me that athiests had something to do with this terminology confusement.
