I know I am, with new technologies that we have all not experienced yet.

How do I know what will be the best for my new gaming machine ????.

How are we suppose to know about these new Athlon 64's or the 64FX, and what they can do ?????.

A new socket OH NO, will this new socket be upgradable like the Socket A????.

Let me assure you all that after reading an article from Ace's Hardware called 2004 Gamers' Hardware Upgrade Guide some of my answers were clear, and I now know what road I will go for my next gaming machine.

This article is full of answers to most of your questions, many benchmarks, and excellent info on the new cool n quite we've all probably heard of.

First question:

Why are you upgrading?

Never upgrade for a game that isn't all ready out. Otherwise, we'd all have our Voodoo Banshee's in SLI with a Voodoo 2 getting ready to play Duke Nukem Forever.

Second question:

What's your budget?

$ talk, bull$hit walks.

Sidenote:

Ati's 420 is rumoured to be twice as fast as a 9700 pro and socket 939 will be the new standard for FX and A64. No word on the opterons and 940. Socket 754 will either die or Socket A chips will be changed to work with 'em.

Socket A will most definitely be dead by the end of the year according to recent AMD CPU roadmaps.

True, not everyone reads this stuff daily, but those that dont either
A) Look it up themselves when their curious
or
B) Ask us since we do read it everyday
