Why not try to get a hacked Battlenet serial? Go "borrow" someone's WC3 cd key or go rent a game and return it. Seems like it would be easier.

Blizzard really cracked down on the hacked servers so you'd have to troll in the internet's underbelly to find one that works.

I have one, but I really don't know if it works for war3, I would say probably not. It does work for StarCraft but the only time I tried it, it was incredibly slow.

I tried the one I have chopper, and it doesn't work with War3. Seems to work with everything but the newest.

we'll try to get something going when I get back.

Just because Blizzard tries to force people to play on their proprietary servers dosen't mean you should have to, regardless of if you purchased the game or not.

Im inclined to agree with Gray and Jon.

I see no reason to buy Warcraft III... Its not an overly riveting game, and I wouldnt buy it simply to be able to occasionally play tower defense. Blizzard pulls shit like this all the time. I will not pay $60+ for a year old game simply to play on proprietary servers.

You are being a very large hypocrite by suggesting he buy the game for only online play, and you arent posting helpful information. You could have said once, buy the game as an option, and left it at that.

I dont mean to lecture, but you, like everyone else on this board, own a burned or pirated copy of a game because they either cant afford to or dont want to pay for it. Dont play all high and mighty simply because you felt it was worth buying.
