I saw it on opening night (thanks to the missus

).
And excellent conclusion to the trilogy. While Im still upset they cut the scourging of the shire, I can understand why, and it was still done very well. Shelob was great, Witch-King was great and Elija wood's acting surprised even me. As much as I hate to say it, he outdid himself.
All in all, 5/5

Definitely the best one, I can't wait until it comes out on DVD. I'd give it a 9.5/10.

Yeah, I've only seen it once, and I think it was the best. Though there was still lots of weird stuff going on... (eg, Denethor's crazy-man leap.. I almost laughed... I was like "oo-k... that was odd")
Jackson ended at the right place ie the end. That doesn't let him off the hook for the mistakes made, in this or the others.
Having said that, great as a movie. As was said on PvP, it's about time a fantasy/sci-fi movie got Oscar nomination. or something like that... if you read pvp..
Plus, I saw it in England!

Someone just pulled a Phoenix!
I'm still looking forward to the extended edition where they show the Hobbits taking back the Shyre.

I actually think I remember them saying that all 12 endings we're filmed and that they would show them all in the film release. I went into the theatre expecting a 5 hour ordeal until Homey J told me how long it was.

I am quite sure that they did film it. I saw an interview with Christopher Lee where he expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that most of his scenes were cut, ie. the siege.
And I am pretty sure they are going to include it in the special edition.

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that Peter Jackson filmed 12 endings, so i was counting them when i saw it, but there was only like 4-5 i think.
