Rename it to something else. There is very little trading going on and it looks farking stupid when somebody sells something that the "Trade Complete" statement is given. [H]ardOCP has theirs named "For Sale/Trade." A minute difference, I know, but one that should be specified.

I don't really think that it's that big of a deal. Do you have a problem with the idea of trading cash for somthing?

Yup. I don't come back from the store and say "I traded for the groceries." I bought them. If you want a "one-all, be-all" statement, then "Transaction Complete" would do.
"Deals and Steals" could be another name for the forum.

Just because you don't does not mean that you couldn't say that if you wanted to. It would still be technically correct. You are giving them an item, and they are giving you one in return.
Not all trades are sales, but all sales are trades.
trade
n.
1.The business of buying and selling commodities; commerce. See Synonyms at business.
2.The people working in or associated with a business or industry: a textile-exporting publication for the trade.
3.The customers of a specified business or industry; clientele.
4.The act or an instance of buying or selling; transaction.
5.An exchange of one thing for another.
6.An occupation, especially one requiring skilled labor; craft: the building trades, including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical installation.
7.The trade winds. Often used in the plural with the.

Oooooh, break out the dictionary. You're not the only one who can do that:
TRADE:
1). A masculine acting gay male
2). Example of a gay one-night stand. Typically used in the South.
Just because it's technically sound doesn't mean it's necessarily acceptable. A safety factor of 1 should suffice, but I have to design above and beyond that. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't do so with my language skills.

I might call into question the validity of your source. I'm not sure what kind of dictionary your using but clearly that is not the most widely accepted use of the word, particularly as we are not "in the south".
In any case, it appears to be acceptable to everyone else, you are the only one that has complained.

Urbandictionary.
It's light years ahead of dictionary.com.
They haven't complained because because they know the thing will never go anywhere. I'm trying to establish some relatively easy standards if it ever does.

I think the standards we have now are pretty easy.
1)You post the trade
2)People post back
3)The trade is completed
If things start to get really crazy, we can always consider changes then. In the mean time if you really want to change the name, why don't you make a poll about it, then we will know how everyone feels.

Why are you always trying to make us into a forum like all others? We want to be different.

I fully agree with different. Crap different = no good. I'm all for a different name. Suggestions?

You already suggested 2 names, put them in a poll with the current name.

First, I'm gonna find out if anyone else cares. I'm not gonna waste my time if no one else here is even remotely concerned. I'll just ad 'em up else where.

I personally think it's fine the way it is. The name clearly defines what the forum is used for and i like that. I'm with nik on this, you are always trying to make us (the group) do things like others. If you don't like it too bad!

But historicaly the best idea's that any group has was stollen from another. I think the Jew is on the right track, see what others have done and steal what worked, leave what doesent!
Although, in this case there is little point to improving the Trading Forum, The entire thing is going to be replaced as soon as I have a spare moment on enact the needed code! The improvements with elimlinate all of the problems that you have mentioned Jew.

While I personally dont care the name of the forum, i can see Jason's point of view. Any suggestions he makes, he gets from other well establishbed forums that have been around for quite some time. Obviously if they've lasted that long, its worth stealing the idea.
Im all for Jason to keep stealing ideas from other forums that have survived. Long live Kalnet, and if stealing ideas from Hard|OCP and Genmay and TFP then so be it.
