Mac quietly updates security to protect against Trojan:
http://apple.slashdot.org/story/10/06/1 ... art_pos=19Not telling people reeks of marketing being worried about the whole "I don't have a virus.........I've got a Mac!" mentality.
.......and Mac's are the new hacker's bulls-eye:

New iPhones force you to turn on real-time tracking of your position with logging (both positional and of what you're doing) or you won't have access to Apple's services (ie. apps, iTune store, etc)
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=18805Seriously, you can't make this $hit up.
Best things out of the article:
quote:
And of course you are totally ignoring the fact that your carrier knows where you are ALL THE TIME.. If you were really afraid of someone knowing your location, you shouldnt have a phone.
That's not necessarily true. You can be virtually untraceable with a prepaid cell phone bought at a non-local location, bought using Visa gift cards, preferably from a second non-local location. If you kept your calls brief and did not store your contact's names in recognizable form (in case the phone was lost) you'd be highly secure...
That said if you want a smart phone Android has at least provided what seems like clearer info about *when* it will be tracking you.
quote:
at least, that tactic kinda worked in the wire. real life is a bit different than the movies.
You'd be surprised... unless you make enemies with the U.S. government (which has a vast amount of resources), that can go a long ways towards protecting your location/identity, at least from private/corporate sources. Better get your prepaid units soon, though -- Congress is on the verge of banning them.
Another option is to purchase a VPN and make secure VoIP calls over it. That seems like another wise idea. You could place calls whenever you have access to Wi-Fi, in that case.
Agreed, though, that IRL is far different than in the movies...
Bear in mind too, though, that people daily compromise their locations in all sorts of ways (such as posting Facebook pictures, writing notes/blogs online, etc). Granted, most of these can't always used for as fine-grain tracking as dedicated tracking software built into the iPad/iPhone OS could, though...

That's pretty crazy, how can you copywrite a unicycle. I'm pretty sure they existed before Pixar made their short.

This means that we won't be seeing the game rereleased in any fashion. Nintendo hasn't put the game out on the Virtual Console and DMA is now a part of Rockstar Games.
Maybe they will show up in Grand Theft Unicycle.

I still can't believe the German tablet ban went through:
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=22685This article shows all the prior art Samsung had. At least the Netherlands recognized that Apple is just full of d!ckwads.
