I, as with the people I've discussed the topic with, will use the scope to see people far away, not aim at them while shooting.

The beauty of the red dot is that you sight it in from the range you want it to be most effective and from there the rule of thumb is that the paintballs likely wont hit the red dot exactly but will land within the scopes field of view. When you sight it you make sure this is whats happening.

Of course wind and the gun will affect things but I really liked mine when I played last. Lets you quickly know where your paintballs will land on the first shot rather than correcting after you've given yourself away.

For me, at the effective range of a paintball ball gun you're so close just yank the trigger. Sniper kill probability in paintball? Small. A $hit tonne of paint thrown in a haphazard manner around a person? Higher.

Magnus effect, boring size, and paint quality are your big three factors and we, quite frankly, aren't serious enough to make a difference of more than 10% (and that's being pretty generous). I'm not saying a scope is useless. I just wouldn't put much faith.........at all........in them. At our ranges, eyeballing it will work just about as well and save ya at least $50. Not my money and "Happy capitalism" so go crazy, though.

Exactly. If ya want a gun, buy a gun and hunt the greatest sport of all..........man.

Once you realize you're firing an approximate sphere made of gelatin that has a seam where 2 halves meet and it has an internal volume consistency of 50 to 75% of not necessarily uniform liquid the firearms comparisons, for the most part, get thrown out the window.

Don't get me wrong, I spend a ridiculous amount of paintballs. My Spyder ended up being fairly accurate when I sighted it in though and I'm pretty happy with how many paintballs land inside the scope. Again thats the beauty of the red dot: its not about sniping, its about aiming the glowing red dot at something and pulling the trigger like a madman until whatever is inside the scope is covered in paint. It doesn't even have magnification. I think of it as a very quick guide as to where my paint will probably land, and for that I love it.

I probably suggest actually playing before spending money :P

holding a gun up and looking down the sites is everyones first reaction but after you realize hey this isn't a normal gun it quickly goes away

For $12, that's actually pretty decent. I, honestly, think an "old-school" ABS one would come close to that so if you want some sort of sighting device that's a really good bang for buck.

Yeah, has TSB played paintball before? Because dropping a bunch of doh after only filming a couple matches seems..........odd............to me.

Please tell me he's played at least one game.

I dunno. Most of us shoot from the hip, or have the gun out in front of us. Few people have time to remain exposed and use a sight. I can't see myself using one. That, and the longest open area in the farm is maybe sixty meters. I can see that just fine with the naked eye, so scratch me using the scope for spotting people far off.

Regardless of if you would use it or not, it still looks fucking sweet!

Well, if we're gonna go for looks, yep, a scope looks pretty good.
