Damn it! That sucks (not that it's your birthday Mike
) I was really looking forward to playing it at the end of this month.
I thought that Valve usually stuck to release dates once they announced them, what happened to that?
hmm...the 19th of Novemeber, that seems dangerously close to exam time....](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

What kind of crack you on, homeboy? Did you forget the time they delayed the release of Half-Life for an entire YEAR? Don't even get me started on the uproar over the crappy Nvidia performance...........
Also, it's EB games, not Valve saying that. If HL2 doesn't go gold by the end of this week, it will most likely be delayed (though, retailers often give more accurate accounts of when the game will be done). Note that Halo PC was shooting for a last week Sept./first week Oct. release to the public and they went gold this week. That's a pretty good sign of how long it takes from gold to public (usually about 2 weeks).

Well, they waited almost 1.5 years the first time (which was an incredibly long time back then) and then delayed it 'til November 1998. What with DNF changing time schedules, it was really only expected that it take a bit longer.
Or it's just a ploy by Valve to start discussion about HL2

Its even fallen off of the joke list. No one even cares enough to make fun of it.
Nature is bountiful where idiots are concerned
No, they arent breasts, they're personalities, because its ok to like a girl for her personalities
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man

It's official........and even later than thought before:
Taken from Shugashack.
We've managed to get an official statement from Valve Software on the release date of Half-Life 2 being pushed back. Here is word that I got directly from Doug Lombardi of Valve Software. Valve seems to have been having some mail issues so you may not see this on other sites, however we can confirm with absolute certainty that this is valid:
The previously announced September 30th release date for Half-Life 2 is being pushed back. We are currently targeting a holiday release, but do not have a specific "in-store" date to share at this time. We will release that information as soon as we have confirmed a new date.
As more information becomes available from Valve we'll have it here for you.
