I just found out today that one of the pioneers in "wow" car development passed away:

He's the guy who developed that amazing Corvette I posted a bit back.

Frickin' sweet. Reminds me of those Burt Reynolds' films (Smoky and another one I can't recall at the moment).

Don't throw out your gasser just yet. I've noticed that the mileage I get is largely dependent on how I drive (ie. below 120 and slow accelerations). Maybe driving style plays a larger role in consumption then the vehicle (to a point, anyways).

I have to agree....this comercial is awsome. I love the part when the vette looks like it is jumping to light speed.

Yeah, the gloves, the TRON effects, it slamming into walls when it's talking about its superior handling, LCD's being a huge thing, 4 speakers being amazing...................the list just goes on and on why this is the best 80's car commercial.

And I thought the 5.0 Mustangs and Camaros the southern U.S. cops used were cool:

I now fully realize that North American cars are the price they are now due to high union wages. Building a factory such as this one here would only sky-rocket prices. Granted, it's only the final assembly, but it still looks like a friggin' opera house.
