No surprise here:
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-m ... full.storyDisney is a d!ck when it comes to copyright. The cases they lose they keep in court long enough to bankrupt their opposition.

New "copyright czar" position in the US:
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=13069Though, since they have no power over law enforcement agencies, I do question the point of the position.

Apparently, distributing Oregon state law breaks copyright:

Keychest by Disney:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB2000142 ... 45222.htmlWhile buying the right to have a movie, music, etc. for any device and having Disney host it seems cool (at first), it's actually a cr@ppy deal. Without physical possession of the medium, the following can happen:
1. Disney can limit the medium to a platform at any time.
2. Unlikely, but Disney can go under and you lose the medium.
3. Disney can restrict access at any moment.
4. No backups allowed.
5. You DON'T
own it. You're simply paying
rent on a work.

What with all the e-book talk and what digitally sharing is costing publishers, a tongue-in-cheek (well, for now) look at what libraries cost the print industry:

A movie on copyright is darn near impossible to make:
http://techdirt.com/articles/20100402/0055588846.shtmlThe b!tch fight between a copyright lawyer and the site editor after the article is far more entertaining, though.
