Ever wonder why Microsoft hasn't released an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, or whether the AV port was really capable of digital out? Well, here's your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console won't just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, it's also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered.
So....does this mean the current X-Box 360 can't actually do HDMI?

Even worse. It can do it, but you just can't get a cable for it. All in all, it's not such a loss. It can easily do 1080i which, I think, is more than good enough. I hate HDMI so I'm all for keeping zee old DVI connections around.

Xbox 360 vs. Sony PS3 visual comparison:

To me, the textures look better on the PS3 but the lighting looks better on the 360. Things aren't as fuzzy on the former, but it looks a bit too cartoony (relatively speaking).

That's pretty interesting, were they both using the same output hardware?
I would give the 360 a very slight edge...

I would pressume they were using the same hardware (I was told that this was one person's comparison so I would guess he would use the same TV). Though, I can't confirm that.
I would agree with your analysis as to which one looks best. Tough call, but the 360 has it IMO.

I'd agree the 360 looks just slightly better.
This is unrealted, but still interesting. I got a chance to try out Motorstorm over the weekend, which looked ok, but unimpressive.. It really needed alot more antialiasing and there were moments where the game actually lagged slightly, as well as had noticable framerate drops... Very unimpressive considering how "powerful" the hardware is...
I then played a 360 for about 20 minutes without any of these problems. Granted it was a different style and paced game, but there was never any hitches noticeable framerate drops and it just looked better overall...

I wonder if they will come out with a patch or somthing to try to fix those issues with Motorstorm.

.......and so begins the buggy console game trend.
"Get it out the door..........we'll patch it later."

The 360 will be cheaper than the Wii this Christmas unless Nintendo drops its prices:
