I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that it'd be fine at my place. Out of curiousity, why wasn't the MAN LAN included? London on New Year's Eve (if it's anything like Toronto) could be a blast. Just wondering.
Drinking can be done at my place, but controlled. It's been done at the last two. If the LAN was at my place, I would venture this option: play games at my place and get hammered (for those that want to) at the LAN house. Heating wouldn't even be required--you'd have vodka. Could have a campfire, drinking games, etc. As long as rides are arranged, I think that would work best. Drinkings cool and all, but waking up the next morning's even better IMHO.

On a side note; I've heard that Athlon's only put out as much heat (into a room) equivalent to a 60 - 100 W lightbulb. I think it's the large amounts of bodies and ...... gaseous fumes more so that give the LANs that "special" heating.

No way my server makes my room unbearable if the air gets turned off.

All we use to heat our garage for our dog in the winter is a light bulb. You'd be suprised how hot they get and how much heat they kick out. Russian prisoners who would be "executed" by exposure to cold always tried to cup the light bulb to escape the cold. That's why the guards would always turn them off.

Ya, I would love to have LANS here man, but the power thing sucks. 15 amp wussy fuzes. We have suffcient space though.

It would probably be ok if everyone shows up. In the middle of winter it would take a while even for an athlon to heat up the room.

But it won't be 1 athlon it will be like 20
