3. And I don't buy it, 'nuff said. The car thing is different, there are dozens of car companies! only 2 OS companies (since Linux is not a company realy) Not counting the Unix companies of course that aren't for general consumers. Using the car analogy, it's like you looking to Peterbuilt to make your car. (Yes Jason that would be cool, but no!)

Pimpin Matt, he's burning the majority of the people whether you buy his software or not. One of exec's became the "computer" advisor to the White House and is helping to instigate all those RIAA and DMCA rules. I'm sure you've bought all your software, MP3's, movies, etc. so this shouldn't apply to you, of course.

It's not so much that he bought out their companies.......it's that he blantantly stole their products without paying them royalties or even acknowledging them. They did this to Mac, Symnatec, Netscape, and a slew of other companies. Some sued; they won, but the amounts were so paltry compared to the business that Microsoft won that it was a joke. It's like someone stealing your blueprints for a car, you calling foul, them paying you $20 after the court case, and them making $2000.

Hey, don't get me wrong. Windows 98 was, and still is, one of the best pieces of software wrote for the IBM-style PC. That's why I bought it. Though when I can see tactics utilized by oil tycoons and talented people like Gabe Newell (of Half-Life fame) who used to work for MS saying they're corrupt.........well, I sit up and take notice.

My allegiances are to my wallet. If MS dropped their superioty complex, practiced good businesss ethics, and stop adding "bloatware" I'd never contribute to a discussion like this again. I'd merely go down to the store and buy my copy of Windows.

I'd highly recommend people here read up on MS Longhorn. I, personally, want a PC, not a terminal.

I just read a article and in a nut shell this is what it said

Softwhere manufacturs are rising there priced because of all the pirecy out there, If it was cheep there still would be pirecy and they wouldnt make as much $ now with the price so high, the poor fools that dont know how to get softwhere free have to buy it so they make up the difference.

We are to blam for the rising prices of softwhere.

Ok my reasons .. so far almost everything I have read from Neb has been nothing more then a reason get a reaction out of people and most of the time it seems he is just posting about nothing ...
